Welcome to Van Looij. By placing an order through my website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

1. About Van Looij

Every Van Looij tile is individually handmade and hand-painted by hand. As a result, no two tiles are exactly alike. Minor variations in colour, shade, brushwork, texture, glazing, dimensions, and finish are an inherent part of the artisanal production process and contribute to the unique character of each piece. These variations are not considered defects or grounds for cancellation, return, refund, or replacement.

Product photographs are provided for illustrative purposes only. While we make every effort to accurately represent colours and finishes, the appearance of products may vary depending on lighting conditions and individual screen settings.

By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept the natural variations that are characteristic of handmade ceramic products.

2. Orders

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in exceptional circumstances, including pricing errors, product availability, or suspected fraudulent activity.

3. Production

All products are made to order. Production times are estimates only and may vary depending on the complexity of the order and our production schedule. I will always do my best to complete your order within the indicated timeframe.

4. Prices

All prices displayed on our website are in Euros (€) and don't include VAT. Shipping costs are calculated separately during checkout. Van Looij reserves the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

5. Payment

Payment must be completed in full before production begins. Orders will only enter production once payment has been successfully received.

6. Shipping

I carefully package every order to ensure it arrives safely. Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination and the shipping carrier. Van Looij is not responsible for delays caused by customs, postal services, or circumstances beyond my control. If your package arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photographs of both the packaging and the damaged items.

7. Returns

Because every tile is handmade and custom-made to order, returns are not accepted. I encourage customers to review all product information carefully before placing an order. If you have any questions before purchasing, I am happy to assist you. This does not affect your statutory rights where applicable under consumer protection laws.

8. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of being placed. After this 24-hour period, production may already have started and cancellation is no longer possible. To request a cancellation, please contact me as soon as possible.

9. Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive an incorrect item or a product that has been damaged during shipping, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery. Where appropriate, I will provide a replacement, repair, or another suitable solution at our discretion.

10. Force Majeure

Van Looij shall not be liable for any delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of its obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond its reasonable control. These events include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, fire, flooding, pandemics, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, labour disputes, interruptions to transportation or postal services, shortages of raw materials, government actions, power outages, or failures of suppliers. Where such an event occurs, Van Looij's obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the event. I will make every reasonable effort to minimise the impact and resume normal operations as soon as reasonably possible. If the force majeure event continues for an extended period and prevents fulfilment of the order, Van Looij reserves the right to cancel the affected order and issue a refund for any amounts paid for products that have not yet been produced or shipped.

11. Intellectual Property

All designs, artwork, product images, photographs, logos and content on this website are the intellectual property of Van Looij and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used without prior written permission.

12. Privacy

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is used only for processing orders, customer service and legal obligations.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Netherlands unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
